I went to see the work that was not a painting to think if I should work with 3D or digital work.
After looking at this exhibition, I thought that using 3D works and photos could be too strong and direct in information which it also made me realise that I want to challenge in creating communication with the viewer and therapeutic change, by only what I completely made from my drawing/painting.

My friend and I was talking about what the medium was used to create the paintings. It was that mysterious and the were very hard to guess what the artist used to paint.
I think this mysteriousness is an interesting factor to use for the painting because it actually goes beyond 'painting' where the medium is quite often easy to recognise and creates the sense of someone painting it.
But for these paintings it went beyond just a painting, how it looks like a mix between collage, photograph or a digital work and gave the viewer to look more into the painting physically and mentally.

Her works were mainly big in size.
I feel like most of the very out expressing works are done in large scale, such as Martk Rothko and Cy Twombly.
The surface she painted on was very interesting to look at. Although she only uses black to paint on, by actually cutting out the surface background, it created sculptural effect and the depth was created. Because she actually cut out some parts of the painting, it gave a different atmosphere looking closely and far away.
It made me think about how I should present my work, if I want the viewer to look from far or closely, or whether I want the work to look different by the distance.
Some parts of her work is painted very abstract, powerful but at the same time she also paints some part really detailed and softly.
That contradiction with the method of how she paints could be useful to look at. Thinking about what part of elements I should paint really abstract and which part to paint detailed.
She uses quite lots of colours but brings it all together by having one main element in the painting, or using strong colour such as black.
